Milestone 5

Lets kick off this week with a walkthrough preview! Here are two parts of our Sadness Level, showing rune activation. To proceed, Luna must search and find 4 runes that raise the water level when activated.



In this next puzzle, luna walks through a narrow hallway and the path back becomes blocked. She needs to activate all the runes in the circle to then re-open the path.



 

Brendan was hard at work cranking out lots of custom built and painted foliage. He created a lily pad, trees, roots, bushes, leaves, rocks and vines.



Fabian also modelled some tree stumps, piles of leaves and some flowers!



 

We did some texturing passes on our Owl and Anger Boss. Brendan also did hand-painted textures on the rocks. The result is nice, though we may use tri-planar mapping and layer blends to get a quicker result for the moss on the rocks.


Rishi finished the high and low poly sculpt for the Anger boss, and Kaitlin rigged, animated and did a texture pass.


Sayed worked on getting our skybox implemented for the Sadness Level - there needs to be a bit more balancing with the amount of fog used, but overall the effect is nice.




 

Danielle worked hard rendering out the structure for the frames that go in the beginning of our opening cinematic. They are implemented into Fábian's animatic and Kaitlin added a sound test pass.



 

Stay tuned next week as our main target is to start set dressing and getting our owl companion in engine! We'll also be hard at work on the cinematic blockouts!
